Use the Weight to Build an Action Plan

This calculator is intended to help administrators estimate where Postsecondary Readiness opportunity is concentrated across the district. A higher weighted share does not mean one campus type is more important; it means that campus type represents a larger portion of the estimated indicator capacity used in the district-level distinction calculation.

  • Use the largest weighted campus type as a starting point for district-level planning conversations.
  • At elementary and middle schools, emphasize the Postsecondary Readiness STAAR indicators that apply to those campuses.
  • At high schools, align action plans to STAAR Meets, graduation outcomes, TSI readiness, CCMR, SAT/ACT participation, and AP/IB participation as applicable.
  • Recalculate whenever district campus configurations change.

Methodology & Disclaimer

The estimator uses theoretical Postsecondary Readiness indicator capacities of Elementary = 2, Middle School = 2, High School = 7, and K-12 / Elementary-Secondary = 8. The weights are normalized so the district's estimated campus-type shares total 100%.

Actual TEA eligible indicators can differ because a campus must have applicable data and meet required minimum-size criteria. This resource is a planning estimate and does not replace official TEA accountability reports, distinction calculations, or determinations.
